The qualifying learner achieving this unit standard in combination with context expertise standard(s) will be able to identify different types of valves and replace washers on a water supply system. This competence will enable the learner to repair leaks on a water system. This competence will assist in the reduction in the water loss and contribute to a reduced water account. In acquiring this competence the qualifying learner will lay a good foundation for future learning and action, and better understand the broader context of own work.
