PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Qualifying learners will be able to de-ink re-cycled fibres by operating, monitoring and controlling the process whilst adhering to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements. They also understand the basic process principles of de-inking recycled fibres. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Learners attempting this unit standard are required to read, understand and interpret operating manuals which are of a technical nature. It is therefore required that they have achieved an NQF level 3 or equivalent accreditation. 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
This unit standard covers the process from the pulper to the wet lapper.
