A learner who has achieved this unit standard will be competent in:
  • Monitoring the fruit treatment process to ensure fruit preservation and enhance fruit appearance.

  • UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
  • The scope of this unit standard deals with the monitoring of fruit treatment process
  • The specific outcomes reflected in this unit standard should be performed without direct supervision, but with access to work site procedures and operating instructions.
  • Types of fruit treatment: drenching, rinsing, bathing, spraying, waxing.
  • Fruit treatment equipment: rinser, wax applicator, drying tunnel, high-pressure spray units.
  • Chemicals and additives: wax, disinfectants, fungicides.
