PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to establish and follow-up on outstanding hire equipment, and payments, monitor and control short returns of equipment, conduct audit for non-conformances with hire contracts and report on audit findings within the hiring industry

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Establishing and following up on outstanding hire equipment and payments, site servicing and accessories
  • Monitoring and controlling short returns of equipment
  • Conducting audit on hire contracts for non-compliance
  • Reporting on audit findings 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
  • Learners accessing this unit standard will have demonstrated competence in computer literacy, numeracy and language and communications at NQF level 3 or equivalent.

    Hire contract is accessed and compliance is established against company contract standards.

    Customer is contacted and outcome of hire contract is confirmed telephonically and outcome recorded.

    Arrangements for payment are recorded in required format and implemented according company standard and practice.

    Equipment collection is organised if client fails to pay within required time frame. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Monitor and control short returns and damage of equipment.

    Communication with customer is initiated and discussions recorded within accepted and agreed time frames.

    Remedial actions taken to rectify situation are implemented within organisation's operational guidelines.
