PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to identify and explain the roles and responsibilities as well as identify and measure their own performance within a project team against agreed roles and responsibilities. Learners accessing this unit standard will also be able to plan their own performance improvement plans.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Identifying and explaining own roles and responsibilities within a project team.
  • Identifying and measuring own performance within a project team against agreed roles and responsibilities.
  • Developing own performance improvement plan.
  • Implementing own performance improvement plan.

    Learners accessing this unit standard will have demonstrated competence in:
  • Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF level 2 or equivalent.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1 
    Identify and explain roles and responsibilities within a project team. 
    OUTCOME RANGE 
    Working as a contributor in the context of a small project/sub-project involving few resources and having a limited impact on stakeholders, cost and environment.

    Roles and responsibilities, previously agreed with role players, are identified and explained with examples. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Project activities are identified from the roles and responsibilities.

    The relationship processes with the project team are explained using a flowchart. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Critical factors, which determine own success, are identified, agreed and explained with examples. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    Performance measurement criteria, to measure own performance, are identified and explained with examples of the importance of achievement.

    Identify and measure own performance within a project team against agreed roles and responsibilities.

    Current own performance is compared against agreed roles and responsibilities and discussed with higher authority.

    Results of comparison are evaluated and recorded in accordance with organisational requirements. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Current own performance is measured against agreed performance measurement criteria. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Performance measurements are evaluated and recorded in accordance with organisational requirements. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 
    Comparisons of roles and responsibilities, and performance measurements are discussed in the team environment to identify areas for improvement and these are recorded according to organisational procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 6 
    Performance improvement opportunities are identified in consultation with higher authority within agreed time frame. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Performance improvement opportunities will include on-the-job training courses, seminars, conferences, training programmes, lectures, videos, audiotapes and books.
