PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for learners and practitioners interested in conflict, deviance, crime and victimisation vulnerability relating to lifestyle patterns. The benefit of this unit standard to society is that a learner who completes it will contribute to individual and social awareness and to improve safety in the personal, social, environmental and economic spheres by building and confirming knowledge regarding conflict, deviance, crime and victimisation vulnerability relating to lifestyle patterns. Learners learn to participate as responsible citizens in the life of local, national and global communities by being aware of lifestyles increasing the vulnerability of becoming victims and offenders. The attaining of these outcomes will also contribute to the development of learners' lifestyle planning skills.

  • Describe conflict, deviance, crime and victimisation vulnerability relating to lifestyle patterns.
  • Assess lifestyle patterns that increase the risk of conflict, deviance, victimisation and criminality.

    Recommendations are made to change lifestyle patterns so as to prevent the risk of conflict, deviance, victimisation and criminality.

    A description is given of opportunities and situations that contribute to criminal behaviour and victimisation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Situations are identified in which criminal behaviour and victimisation occurs. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Changes in general lifestyles, social habits and technology are assessed in order to determine opportunities for crime and victimisation. 


    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this Unit Standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this Unit Standard or assessing this Unit Standard must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
