PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is aimed at individuals responsible for the implementation of a conservation management plan for the area of operation. Operational objectives and planned work activities associated with the management plan will be carried out and outcomes and achievements reported for the area of operation.

The learner will be able to:
  • Implement plans for work activities within the area of operation.
  • Assign priority to specified activities in line with management plans.
  • Carry out planned work activities.
  • Report on the implementation and outcomes of management plans.

    It is assumed that the learner is competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 3.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Conservation management plan requirements are considered as it applies to the area of operation. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Aspects of the management plan include:
  • Purpose; Objectives; Outcomes; Activities; Target Dates; Resource Allocation, Alignment to the mission and vision of the organisation.
     

  • ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Activities required for the implementation of the Conservation management plan are prioritized to ensure effective performance in the area of operation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The Conservation management plan is implemented according to the required outcomes, activities and time-frames as it applies to the area of operation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Due consideration is given to the needs of stakeholder groupings in the execution of planned activities in the area of operation. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Execute work activities in support of Conservation management plan implementation.

    Challenges with work activities are addressed and resolved as to ensure the meeting of outcomes requirements and deliverables in support of the implementation of the Conservation management plan.

    Report on the implementation and outcomes of a management plan.

    A report is prepared on actions that had been taken to implement the conservation management plan.

    The implementation outcomes are evaluated against the identified requirements to measure the success of implementation as it applies to the management plan. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Areas for improvement are identified based on the evaluation and included as recommendations in the implementation report.

  • Anyone assessing an individual against this unit standard must meet the assessor requirements of the relevant ETQA. In particular, such assessors must demonstrate that they assess in terms of the scope and context defined in all the range statements.
