PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for learners who need to plan for and handle bomb incidents in order to ensure the protection of property and safe evacuation of possible victims. This unit standard will enable learners to identify various types of bomb incidents and understand the procedures applicable to bomb incidents. This unit standard will enable learners to identify the required action steps to be taken to neutralise the threat while applying the safety requirements for handling bomb incidents. The competencies achieved by the learner in this Unit Standard will lead to a safer society for South African citizens.

Learners credited with this unit standard will be able to:
  • Explain bomb incident procedures.
  • Describe the utilisation of the different resources in an bomb incident.
  • Compile a bomb incident plan.
