PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard has as its core purpose, qualifying learners who will use a variety of technical, business, managerial, personal skills and strategies to manage the human resources in a mission.

The qualifying learner will be able to:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of labour relations policies within a mission context.
  • Execute service conditions in the mission.
  • Maintain discipline and effective work relations.
  • Identify and manage staff developmental needs and opportunities.

    Implications of HR policies and procedures are communicated to staff and relevant stakeholders in accordance with departmental procedures.
