PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is directed at people training to become diplomats or to work in diplomatic contexts, with a particular focus on economic diplomacy.

People credited with this unit standard are capable of:

  • Analysing South Africa's economy and legislative and policy frameworks.
  • Analysing the instruments and role-players geared towards promoting South Africa's economy.

    An outline is provided of the progress of South Africa as a developmental state in terms of the repositioning of the South African economy, both internal and external.

    An analysis of the role played by tourism identifies the ways in which tourism promotes South Africa's economy.

  • Anyone assessing a candidate against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.
