PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners acquiring this standard will be learning towards obtaining a national qualification or are working within a transport management environment, where acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to learner`s job, or chances of finding employment.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Understanding, interpreting and executing routes and schedules received
  • Conducting routing and scheduling activity
  • Analysing and interpreting route data
  • Evaluating circumstances and taking applicable action in the routing and scheduling function
  • Knowing when and how to report incidences to superior officers 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Learners accessing this unit standard / qualification will have demonstrated competence against numeracy, literacy and communication skills at NQF Level 2 or the basic transport operations and applicable prescriptive labour and road transport legislation as well as the relevant knowledge from contract / tender / permissions.
