PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A learner who has achieved this unit standard will be competent in:
  • Over-wrapping display units to ensure availability for the case filling process. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    To enter a learning programme for this unit standard or to be assessed against this unit standard, the learner is assumed to have:
  • Literacy and numeracy at NQF level 1
  • Knowledge of the application of quality control on the final product
  • Introduction to the Tobacco Processing Industry 

  • UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
    The learner is expected to perform the specific outcomes as reflected in this unit standard with minimal supervision, but with access to work-site procedures and operating instructions.

    The scope of this unit standard deals with the over-wrapping of display cartons and bundles after receiving of materials and before packing display units in final containers.

    Materials include, but are not limited to, tear tape and film wrap.

    Equipment includes, but is not limited to, cut-off knives, drag rollers, folders, heater blocks.
