PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The qualifying learner will be capable of demonstrating a technical understanding of the various learning components of Radio Engineering theory. This will form the basis for the qualifying learner to apply this knowledge in the provision of technical support and maintenance services for Radio Communication Systems that are used in the aviation industry.

Qualifying learners will be capable of:

  • Understanding Transmission Line theory.
  • Understanding Reception and Transmission theory.
  • Understanding Digital Signal Processing theory.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this Unit Standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
