PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This standard is in the elective category of the NQF Level 4 National Certificate in Clothing Technology. Learners assessed competent against this standard will be able to compile and make presentations, develop ranges, co-ordinate orders and adapt patterns. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Learners will have attained the NQF Level 2 National Certificate in Clothing processes. 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
This standard will include the compiling of ranges for garments in the following:
  • Formal outerwear.
  • Casual outerwear.
  • Leisurewear.
  • Intimate / sleepwear.
  • Swimwear / actionwear.
  • Knitwear.
  • Hosiery.
  • Workwear.
  • Linen.
    Fabric types will include:
  • Wovens.
  • Non-wovens.
  • Warp knits.
  • Weft knits.
  • Knitwear.
  • Lace.
  • Elastics.
    Fabrics include filament or spun yarns at a variety of weights, finishes and structures.
