PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Persons credited with this unit standard are able to classify waste paper by adhering to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements.They also understand the fundamental principles of classifying waste paper as per the South African Grade Definition. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
It is required that persons attempting this unit standard have achieved NQF level 1 or equivalent accreditation. 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
This unit standard covers the identification and selection of the various grades of waste paper.
