PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Persons credited with this unit standard are able to produce bales of waste paper by operating, monitoring and controlling the process whilst adhering to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements. They also understand the fundamental process principles of producing bales of waste paper using a baling machine. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Persons attempting this unit standard are required to read, understand and interpret operating manuals of a technical nature, it is therefore required that they have achieved NQF level 1 or equivalent accreditation.
