PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners working towards this standard will be learning towards the full qualification. The learner will be able to identify value adding cleaning opportunities additional to an existing service level agreement. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
The learner has the speaking and listening ability equal to NQF Level 2 Communication Skills standard and/or any other communication skill that will enable him/her to confirm the knowledge and skills required by this unit standard.
The learner is certified and is currently competent in the cleaning and hygiene qualification at NQF Level one. 

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
1. The scope of this unit standard is for any person who is required to identify additional value adding opportunities additional to an existing service level agreement.
2. In the context of this unit standard, value adding opportunities refers to opportunities for cleaning activities that are additional and unscheduled and that generate additional income for the service provider.

2. Operating processes refer to, but are not limited to, construction, manufacturing, retailing and administrative activities.
3. Additional/unscheduled cleaning refers to, but is not limited to, general cleaning activities and operations the performance of which do not form part of the service level agreement.
4. Relevant details would include, but is not limited to: Area to be cleaned, nature of the cleaning requirement, date of report, to whom reported, recommendations offered, action taken, follow up date.

UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
1. An assessor accredited by the Services SETA ETQA will assess the competency.
2. Assessment procedures will be supplied to the ETQA in alignment with NSB requirements.
3. All assessment activities must be fair so that all candidates can have equal opportunities.
