The learner is expected to perform the specific outcomes as reflected in this unit standard without direct supervision, but with access to work-site procedures, operating instructions and statutory requirements.
Germplasm refers to but is not limited to any seed that is used for trials. Trials include but are not limited to breeding blocks, statistical, grow-out, seed production, genetic purity, hybridity, pollinations and demonstrations. Deviations include but are not limited to insufficient quantities, poor quality and incorrect seed. Statutory requirements refer to but are not limited to the Plant Improvement Act of 1976 as amended. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Act 36 of 1947 as amended and other relevant statutory health and safety requirements and work site procedures. |
