PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to explain the roles played by different bodies within education and training of beauty consultants, explain the standards and qualifications needed for this field of learning. Learners are also able to identify the structures within personal care sector, describe, and explain their role and the roles of others in a learnership agreement.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Explaining and discussing the roles played by different bodies in the education and training of beauty consultants in manicure, pedicure, aesthetics and make-up
  • Explaining and discussing the necessary standards and qualifications needed and identifying the structure under which the Personal Care Sector functions
  • Exploring the learnership agreement
  • Describing and explaining the requirements of the learner in the learnership
