    Definition of Terms

Terms have been clarified as far as possible through the use of range statements. Further clarification of terms is provided as follows:
  • "Proof texts" are selected verses taken in isolation (out of context) to support or "prove" a particular point or opinion.
  • A testimony is similar to an eyewitness account in that it is a personal account of a person's faith. However, because it is a public presentation, the testifier should make sure that the presentation of faith is as doctrinally sound as possible as well as challenging without being offensive.
