  • Specific Outcomes and Assessment Criteria:

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1
Conducting major repairs to textile machinery (dry processes).

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
Safe working practices and procedures for conducting repairs are observed throughout the task.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
Suitable tools and equipment are selected and used that enable textile machinery (dry processes) to be repaired according to industry and manufacturers specifications.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
The textile machinery (dry processes) is stripped and parts are checked for repair or replacement according to manufacturers specifications.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4
Diagnostic and repair procedures are described in terms of manufacturers and industry specifications.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5
Operating principles and repairing textile machinery (dry processes) are described and followed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2
Interpreting design and innovation specifications for textile machinery (dry processes).

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
The interpretation links specifications to industry required standards and requirements.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
The interpretation confirms functional feasibility of the laid down specifications.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
The resultant design plan reflects the significance of the required specifications laid down.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3
Selecting a product design concept and proving design functionality.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
The quantity and characteristics of alternative design concepts reflect the constraints of the design plan and design functionality required.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
The scope, depth and process of analyses prove the technical integrity of each concept and the preferred concept satisfies the design specification.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
The design performance evidence identifies areas of deficiency.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4
The final design delivers a level of functionality that meets all the required and specified requirements and specifications.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5
Design notes provide evidence of design approaches, test and conclusions according to production plans and client specifications.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 4
Installing and commissioning as per manufacturer's specifications for textile machinery.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
Safe working practices and procedures for installing/commissioning are observed through out the tasks.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
Suitable tools and equipment are selected and used in the installation.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
Installation to be carried out as per legislative requirements, manufacturer's specifications and industry standards.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4
All services are timeously connected as per installation procedures.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5
    Machines are commissioned as follows:
  • Test and evaluate the machine against manufacturer's specifications.
  • Fine tune, check product and hand over as per manufacturer's and company standards.
