PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A learner who has achieved this unit standard will be competent in:

Maintaining a cigarette packer's drying drums to ensure optimum production performance of the unit.

To enter a learning programme for this unit standard or to be assessed against this unit standard, the learner is assumed to have:

  • UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
    The learner is expected to perform the specific outcomes as reflected in this unit standard with minimal supervision, but with access to work-site procedures and operating instructions

    The scope of this unit standard deals with the repair and commissioning of a cigarette packer drying drums from the blank folding wheel up to the exit conveyor

    Drying drums components include, but are not limited to, pockets, heaters, guides and ejectors

    Demonstrate an understanding of fault-finding on the drying drums.
