PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A person credited with this unit standard is able to demonstrate an understanding of the fundamentals of ERP consulting, and its impact on the business environment.

In particular, on completion of this unit standard, the learner is able to:
  • Examine the end -to -end process related to the role of the End User.
  • Identify End User responsibilities (functions/tasks/roles) within a (broad) business process.
  • Execute the transaction related to the End User.
  • Verify that transactions have been accurately executed and completed. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    It is assumed that learners are competent in:
  • End User Computing at NQF Level 3.
  • Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 3.
  • Communication skills at NQF level 3. 

  • UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
  • This unit standard is meant to give learners an understanding of the connection between business enabling systems and the processes they support.
  • Learners are expected to gain an awareness of the manner in which Business systems, and ERP systems in particular, can add value in a business environment.
  • This unit standard alone will not give learners comprehensive technical expertise in ERP or Business systems.
  • The unit standard relies on the learners awareness of some aspect of the business functionality, be it through direct experience or observation. 

  • Specific Outcomes and Assessment Criteria: 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1 
    Examine the end-to-end process related to the role of the End User. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    A simple flow chart is prepared of the end-to-end processes in relation to the end-user's role. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The functional boundaries are identified that are applicable to the role of the end-user. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Identify End User responsibilities (functions/tasks/ roles) within a (broad) business process. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    All the functions, tasks and activities are itemised within the end-to-end process within the End User's responsibility. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The hand-off points are identified in relation the End User's role. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3 
    Execute the transaction related to the End User.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The functions within the end-to-end process are mapped to the appropriate system transactions. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The respective transactions are executed as per the business rules and procedures applicable to the specific business process.

    Verify that transactions have been accurately executed and completed.

    The requirements are explained for the successful execution of the various system transactions.

    A verification check is conducted to ensure that the transaction has been completed successfully.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed against this unit standard (including through RPL) may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant Education and Training Quality Assurance body (ETQA), or one with an appropriate memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the relevant ETQA.
