PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A person credited with this unit standard is able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of the end-user during the various phases of the ERP solution implementation.

In particular, on completion of this unit standard, the learner is able to:
  • Explain the role of the end-user during the various phases of an ERP implementation.
  • Relate the responsibilities of the end user to the different phases during the life cycle of the solution.
  • Participate in the various phases of the ERP implementation. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    It is assumed that learners are competent in:
  • End-use Computing at NQF Level 3.
  • Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 3.
  • Communication skills at NQF level 3. 

  • UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
  • Learners are expected to gain an awareness of the manner in which Business systems, and ERP systems in particular, can add value in a business environment.
  • This unit standard alone will not give learners comprehensive technical expertise in ERP or Business systems.
  • The unit standard relies on the learner's awareness of some aspect of the business functionality, be it through direct experience or observation.

    The role of the end-user during the post implementation phase of the solution is described highlighting the importance of meaningful contributions.

    The role of the end-user during the continuous implementation phase of the solution is described highlighting the importance of meaningful contributions.

    Relate the responsibilities of the end-user to the different phases during the life-cycle of the solution.

    The life-cycle of a typical business solution is briefly explained in writing and related to an organisation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The responsibilities of the end-user are summarised for the various phases in the life-cycle of the solution. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The effects of a lack of end-user participation is described in terms of operational impact during the various phases in the life-cycle of the solution.

    Participate in the various phases of the ERP implementation.
