PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The purpose of this Unit Standard is to enable Plumbers to install and maintain a belowground drainage system, build drainage system structures, and install on-site sanitation systems. |

UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
1. The installation, maintenance and repair of drainage systems are according to the following qualitative specifications:
2. Sewer and drainpipes include: uPVC, HDPE, reinforced concrete, earthenware (Vitrified clay), and fibre reinforced cement. 3. Trench excavations include for battering of side slopes in non-cohesive soils, and for shoring. 4. Cleaning of sewer and drainpipes includes rodding, and jetting. 5. Manholes include the use of concrete cast in-situ and precast, brick masonry, precast concrete rings, and prefabricated manholes. |

CETA is responsible for moderation of learner achievements of learners who meet the requirements of this qualification. |
