A person credited with this unit standard is able to describe the various modules of the Enterprise Resource Planning solution system as well as its architecture. Learners are also able to describe how these solutions are applied in business and customise these to suit a related business

  • Explaining the underlying Enterprise Resource Planning system architecture
  • Identifying the various business processes that apply to a particular Enterprise Resource Planning module and related transactions

    The Enterprise Resource Planning system is reviewed and its business applications are developed in report format.

    Explain the underlying Enterprise Resource Planning system architecture.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The technology on which the Enterprise Resource Planning system is designed is explained using correct terminology. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The technological evolution of the system is described in report format. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    The report must include a historic understanding of the Enterprise Resource Planning system as well as an understanding of the future direction of its development.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Assistance in the technical setup or installation of an Enterprise Resource Planning system is provided, as stipulated by a senior consultant or supervisor. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3 
    Identify the various business processes that apply to a particular Enterprise Resource Planning module and related transactions.

    Business processes within a client environment are identified in terms of their relation to a particular Enterprise Resource Planning module.

    A map is made to demonstrate the correspondences between generic business processes and Enterprise Resource Planning modules.

    Contribute to the customisation of an Enterprise Resource Planning module to meet the requirements of a related business process. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Information related to business requirements is gathered from reliable sources, with regard to an Enterprise Resource Planning system enhancement or implementation. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Technical information is provided during a workshop on the customisation (or, design) of an Enterprise Resource Planning module to meet business requirements. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Documentation detailing an Enterprise Resource Planning module configuration is provided, subject to agreement and verification by the client. 


    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this unit standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
