PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to provide exhibition organisers with on-site exhibition support and assistance to their clients and contractors. Learners will be able assist with building of stands, manage office related functions during the build-up and break-down processes.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Assisting in the organisers office during the build-up.
  • Assisting with function co-ordination during the exhibition.
  • Providing assistance at enquiries desks at exhibitions.
  • Assisting in the organisers office during break-down. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Competence in Computer Literacy, Mathematical Literacy and Communication at NQF level 3 or equivalent. 

    UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
  • Courteous behaviour will include but is not limited to: politeness, pleasantness, friendliness, helpfulness.
  • Organiser's office is an area at an exhibition which is used by the exhibition organisers as their on-site office.
  • Functions will include but are not limited to: opening ceremonies, exhibitors' parities, workshops, fashion shows, product launches and demonstrations.

    The collection and clearing of goods, supplied to exhibitors or goods used during the exhibition, is co-ordinated according to organisational requirements.

    Contractors' queries are handled in required time frame. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The organiser's office is packed up in accordance with instructions. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Organiser's goods are unpacked and stock is accounted for according to organisational policies and procedures. 


    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this unit standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA or with an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
