    Recognise, identify, name, compare, sort and visualize angles, geometric figures and solids, including cultural forms and products. 
    OUTCOME RANGE 
    Include all quadrilaterals including kites and trapeziums, regular polyhedra, prisms, pyramids.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Angles are correctly classified into acute, right, obtuse, straight, reflex or revolution. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional objects are correctly described and classified in terms of their properties. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Range: faces, vertices and edges; size and angles of polygons; parallel and perpendicular sides.

    Analyse properties of geometric figures and solids.

    Rotations, reflections and translations are used correctly to describe the relationships between distinct 2-dimensional shapes and 3-dimensional objects within patterns.

    Properties of similar and congruent shapes are described correctly. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Properties of shapes and solids are investigated correctly using construction and measurement.

    Properties of solids are correctly used to design nets.

    Models are compared correctly according to the number of faces, vertices, edges, length of sides, angles of corners.

    Natural and cultural 2-dimensional shapes, 3-dimensional objects and patterns are correctly identified and described in terms of geometric properties.

    Perimeters of rectangles and squares are approximated correctly in order to develop rules for calculating perimeters.

    Square grids are used correctly to investigate and approximate area of polygons in order to develop rules for calculating the area of squares and rectangles.
