PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for persons to perform functional policing duties by displaying a sense of discipline, acting on lawful orders and acting in an acceptable manner.

A person credited with this unit standard will be able to:
  • Analyse and explain the customs of the organization
  • Behave in a professional and responsible manner that are acceptable to the community and the organization
  • Adhere and practice human relations, customers service and organizational criteria in improving the image of the organization
  • Participate in organised group activities.

    This unit standard will contribute to the full development of any learner within the safety in society environment and more specifically within the e Policing discipline by providing recognition, further mobility and transportability within the field. The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this unit standard are essential for social and economic transformation and upliftment within the safety in society environment.

    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
    1. Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA.
    2. Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this unit standard must be accredited as a provider through the relevant ETQA by SAQA.
    3. Moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant ETQA according to the moderation guidelines in the relevant qualification and the agreed ETQA procedures.
