PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This Unit Standard will enable learners to acquire an in-depth understanding of gender violence with reference to the nature, types and impact of gender violence in the South African context. It also focuses on the application of relevant legislation as prescribed by international instruments, relevant South African legislation and departmental policies.
The purpose of this Unit Standard is to provide learners with an in-depth understanding of gender violence. Qualifying learners will be able to offer direct support to victims of gender violence, co-ordinate gender violence programmes and apply relevant legislation and policies under the supervision of a mental health professional.
