The person credited with this unit standard is able to plan and implement a waste management system, whilst considering legislative requirements and the environmental impact of the disposal of waste.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Considering the environmental impact of waste disposal.
  • Designing a waste management system.
  • Managing the disposal of waste and scrap.
  • Implementing a waste management system.
  • Monitoring a waste management system, recording and reporting on results.

    It is assumed that learners accessing this unit standard are competent in:
