This unit standard will enable officials within the port control and admissions environment to improve professionalism and enhance the quality of service delivery. A learner acquiring this unit standard will be able to control and recognize aiding and abetting activities.

Aiding and abetting activities includes but not limited to human trafficking, stowaways and human smuggling.
The range covers the role and purpose of port control and admissions within in the context of the immigration legal framework in the South African society. The range includes practice and culture of safety in society particularly within immigration, the relevant regulatory framework, the main activities of port control and admissions, and stakeholders nationally and internationally. The level assigned to this unit standard is appropriate, as learners need to be able to exercise judgement in terms of port control and admission. |

UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS |
The assessment will be governed by the policies and guidelines of the relevant Education and Training Quality Assuror (ETQA) that has jurisdiction over this field of learning.
The assessor will (at the very least) be accredited and have a relevant qualification and be a subject matter expert in this learning area and at least have 3 years experience in the skills specific area. The learner can be assessed against this unit standard to obtain credits or as part of an integrated assessment for a qualification. |
