PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
Learners working towards this standard will be learning towards the full qualification, or will be involved in or working within a cleaning services environment.
Qualifying learners are able to clean windows and window frames in a commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, food handling, domestic and health care cleaning environment. |

UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
1. The scope of this unit standard is for any person who needs to wash accessible windows.
2. The level assigned to this unit standard is appropriate because the process is limited in range, very repetitive and familiar, no generation of new ideas are needed and the person has no responsibility for the learning of others. RANGE STATEMENTS WHICH REFER TO ASSESSMENT CRITERIA IN THIS UNIT STANDARD 1. Glass in this unit standard includes but is not limited to: Frosted glass, tinted glass, glass panels, glazed glass, shatterproof glass, smoked glass. 2. Window cleaning chemical in the context of this unit standard is a highly evaporative chemical. 3. Window cleaning equipment includes but is not limited to: scrapers, cloths, sponges, squeegees, lambs wool sleeve, chamois, spray bottles, buckets and two step ladders. 4. Window preparation includes but is not limited to: Removal of stickers, furniture, ornaments, plants. Opening of blinds and curtains. |
