PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD
Learners who are assessed competent against this unit standard are able to install cladding, that is, to install insulation, underlay, ridging, roof sheeting, covering and cladding on a timber roof structure, in line with safety legislation, and National Building Regulations and requirements, and based on specification drawings. Since the role of safety is crucial, learners mostly apply competence under supervision of a team leader. Understanding the implications of design modifications and industry convention to deal with practical challenges are important factors when attaining the outcomes of this unit standard.
