PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard forms part of the qualification, National Certificate in Real Estate, registered at Level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework. Learners working towards this standard will be learning towards the full qualification, or will be working within a Property Environment, specialising in Estate Agency Sales or Rental, where the acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to their understanding of the sector and functioning in the workplace. This standard will also add value to learners who are starting or working in their own Property and / or Real Estate business.

The purpose of this standard is for learners to develop the broad perspective of marketing, selling and leasing of commercial, industrial and business properties, in which relevant organisation strategies and policies are reviewed and evaluated systematically, against performance objectives and required outcomes.

The qualifying learner is capable of :
  • Planning, developing and executing marketing, sales and leasing strategies for commercial, industrial and business property
  • Evaluating and approving marketing sales and leasing strategies for commercial, industrial and business property
  • Evaluating, coordinating and controlling marketing, sales and leasing activities for commercial, industrial and business property
  • Evaluating implementation of work plans and methods against objectives and required outcomes. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Learners accessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence in the standards towards a National Certificate in Real Estate Practice at NQF Level 5 or equivalent, in particular, the level 5 unit standard `Manage the marketing, selling and leasing of commercial/ industrial/ business properties`.
