PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for persons working in the international trade environment especially within exports. The learner is able to manage the delivery process.

This unit standard is intended for learners who will obtain a solid knowledge base relating to Exports, have a sound understanding of the key terms, rules, concepts, principles and theories. The learner will be able to select and apply central procedures and will have the ability to solve well defined, but unfamiliar problems.

A person credited with this unit standard is able to:
  • Establish logistics performance management indicators and systems.
  • Establish pre and post delivery quality assessment mechanisms and systems.
  • Establish track and trace systems.
  • Establish systems to monitor export payments.

    Establish and administer logistics performance management indicators and systems. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The importance of using a logistics performance management system is explained as it related to different export transactions, products and/or services. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The critical transit points in each of the organisation's logistics chains are identified for different export transactions, products and/or services. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Performance criteria for each critical transit point are agreed between the organisation and the respective service provider for different export transactions, products and/or services. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    The performance of the respective service providers is evaluated against the performance criteria and corrective and preventative action is taken as necessary for different export transactions, products and/or services. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Establish pre delivery quality assessment mechanisms and systems.

    Pre-delivery quality assessment criteria are established for different export transactions, products and/or services.

    Different track and trace systems are evaluated and a decision arrived at respect of selection for different export transactions, products and/or services. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The track and trace system is installed and integrated with the organisation's/service providers inventory management systems for different export transactions, products and/or services. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 4 
    Establish systems to monitor export payments.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The organisation's and statutory requirements in receiving export payments have been determined as they relate to different export transactions, products and/or services. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Foreign debtor administration systems have been evaluated and decision arrived in respect of selection for different export transactions, products and/or services. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    A foreign debtor administration system is installed and integrated with the organisation's/service providers financial administration systems for different export transactions, products and/or services. 


    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
  • Anyone assessing a learner must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA or an ETQA where a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) exists with the relevant ETQA.
  • Any Institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this Unit Standard must be accredited as a provider through the relevant ETQA or ETQA where a MOU exists with the relevant ETQA.
