PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This Unit Standard forms part of the qualification National Certificate: Piano Restoration, NQF Level 2. This Unit Standard will serve to introduce the learner to the Piano Industry. It will equip the learner with a basic understanding of the historical development of the modern acoustic piano (Grand Piano or Upright Piano). Furthermore, a basic knowledge of the various types of pianos and their parts will be gleaned. The foundational knowledge of the materials and tools used to restore and repair modern acoustic pianos is also covered in this Unit Standard.
