    Basic content and terminology of a music-related contract are identified and explained according to industry practice. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Terms of reference, obligations and consequences of breach of potential contracts between performers and music industry are explained. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Contract relate to, but is not limited to: Business manager, Personal manager, Live gig contract, Publicist, Publisher, Recording contract and merchandising contract.

    Issues pertaining to key members of a musical unit, its deficits and use of brand name are described in the music industry context.

    Use of song writing credits and royalty division on songs, recording and live performance is explained in the music industry context.

    Simple promotional tools for a gig are explained and presented in accordance with organisational requirements.

    Promotional tools include, but is not limited to three of the following: poster, flyer, newspaper advert, internet site and radio promotion.
     


    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
  • Any individual wishing to be assessed (including RPL) against this Unit Standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a memorandum of understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a memorandum of understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must hold a minimum of level 4 qualification in the sub-field of music.
