PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard will enable learners to understand the theory and aural elements of music in order to improve speed to programme music. It will ensure that qualifying learners will be able to demonstrate keyboard skills at the intermediate level of difficulty (See supplementary information).

Major and natural minor scales are played with hands together, one octave up and down, according to industry standard. |

Scales include, but not limited to the keys of C, G and D. |

Major, minor, triad chords and chord exercises are played according to industry standard. |

Basic level finger exercises emphasizing correct finger numbering is conducted according to industry standard. |
