PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners credited with this unit standard are able to verify and validate that the products of the project are ready for handover, handover the products of the project and close all administration and client agreements of the project. Learners are also able to release project resources and participate in conducting a performance review of the project. Learners will be able to communicate project closure to all stakeholders in a professional manner. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
It is assumed that learners are competent in:
  • Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4 or equivalent.
  • Communication at NQF Level 4 or equivalent.
  • Computer Literacy at NQF Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Unit Standard: Monitor and control the execution of the project management plan for a simple to moderately complex project at NQF Level 5.
  • Unit Standard: Manage project communication for a simple to moderately complex project at NQF Level 5.
  • Unit Standard: Conduct project documentation management to support project processes at NQF Level 4.

    Simple to moderately complex project can be defined as:
  • Has a high degree of stability, few uncertainties or low rate of change with regards expected deliverables, phase contents, organisational process and procedures, legislation and team members.
  • Limited range of different methods or approaches relating to the design and creation of deliverables and end products; the project management, administration and reporting.
  • Project has a low to moderate impact on the environment and or socio economic elements. Moderate to low need to comply with legislation. Moderate number of stakeholders affected by or interested in the project.
  • Low strategic importance to the organisation or organisations involved. May not have been identified in strategic plans.
  • Most stakeholders are in agreement about the characteristics of the product of the project. Benefits of the project are well defined and agreed.
  • Low number of different organisations participating in the project. A low number; and or wide variety of interfaces between the project and other organisational entities in order to produce the end deliverable.
  • Closure may be at the end of a phase, whole project or by a supplier for a contract.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1 
    Verify and validate that the products of the project are ready for handover. 
    OUTCOME RANGE 
    This includes checking that work done by others is complete. Checking that the product includes final end product and any related deliverables that must be handed over into operational use at project termination/closure.

    All product compliance tests are checked for completion in accordance with project requirements. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Compliance tests may include inspections, field tests and any action needed to check that the product meets specification and acceptance criteria.

    All product related documentation are completed in accordance with project requirements and/or contracts. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Non-compliance issues are analysed and resolved to the satisfaction of all relevant parties, and documents are ready for handover to the client or to operation status. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Hand over the products of the project.

    The products of the project are handed over to authorised individual in accordance with organisational practices and project agreements.
