PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The person credited with this unit standard is able to identify and explain ship machinery and systems. They are also able to describe the construction and operation of diesel, refrigeration, engineering pumping, steering and electrical systems of a vessel. The person will also be able to describe problems and corrective action needed to rectify the problem related to any of the ship's systems.
