PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
People in the field of manufacturing and engineering require the skills, values and knowledge reflected in this unit standard. The learning outcomes in this unit standard also contribute to the exit level outcomes required for various manufacturing and engineering qualifications. The learner is capable of repairing and assembling automotive components to restore the system to operational condition. This will contribute to the exit level outcomes required for the National Certificate in maintaining vehicles and related qualifications. |
LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING |
It is assumed that the learner has already learned the use of engineering hand tools, power tools, workshop equipment, measuring equipment, measure and assess component parts for serviceability, use automobile lifting equipment and to maintain a safe and productive working environment and learners are already competent in Communication and Mathematical literacy at NQF Level 2. |
