PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
In achieving this unit standard, the learner will display the competency required of a netball coach with primary focus on activities that lead to the game of netball, in areas where the facilities may need to be adapted.

The qualified learner will be able to demonstrate his\her knowledge of the laws of the game as well as the skills needed to play the netball. Furthermore, the learner will be able to show his/her knowledge of the teamwork and the individual player skills needed for the game of netball.

The subfield will benefit by having a coach with the correct, industry-standardised knowledge and skills to be teaching the basic skills of netball to beginners of the sport to generate interest and to encourage new entrance to the game.

On achievement of this unit standard, the learner will be able to:
