PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard will enable learners to disseminate flight dispatch information to be used in the safe and efficient execution of a flight, by the flight deck crew and other role players in accordance with regulatory requirements. Learners will also be able to identify and highlight factors of operational significance.

Range: Flight dispatch information includes but is not limited to minimum fuel requirements, maximum allowable payload/Zero Fuel Weight, flight times vs. block times, weight and balance data, aeronautical and meteorological information, Air Traffic Services flight plan and route and destination information.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:
  • Planning to brief flight deck crew and other role players.
  • Conducting a dispatch briefing.
  • Concluding a briefing.
