PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
A learner achieving this unit standard will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role and function of a governance structure in relation to its stakeholders, the affiliation process, as well as the relative roles of elected leaders and managers within a sports organisation at major club, provincial and national level. Furthermore, the learner will be able to form a community-based structure and develop a constitution.
This unit standard, combined with other core and elective Sport unit standards in the National Certificate in Sport Management (NQF Level 5) will provide the learner with the competence to practice supervisory and managerial skills. In particular, on completion of this unit standard, the learner is able to: In addition they will be well positioned to extend their learning and practice into other areas of Sport, Recreation or Fitness disciplines, or to strive towards professional standards and practices at higher levels. |
