PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this Unit Standard will be able to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to arrive at solutions to the legal problems that are encountered in relationships between freight forwarders and their clients. They will also be able to advice to forwarders and their clients as to their liabilities and responsibilities in terms of the forwarding standard trading conditions.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Explaining the forwarders standard trading conditions.
  • Negotiating the acceptance of the forwarders standard trading conditions by all affected parties.
  • Analysing specific incidents in terms of the forwarders' standard trading conditions.
