PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is aimed at individuals involved in Conservation Management activities. It enables the application of management planning and participation in the development and implementation of a conservation management plan. Learners will understand the significance and use of Conservation Management Planning in Conservation. This will contribute towards the professional development and maintenance of good planning practice and implementation of the qualifying learner.

In particular, on completion of this unit standard, the learner is able to:
  • Plan basic work activities in a conservation (protected) area.
  • Prioritise annual activities in a conservation area over a year.
  • Execute planned work activities.
  • Report on the implementation of a management plan.
