PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The qualifying learner achieving this unit standard will be able to operate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic tools and equipment in a safe manner and in compliance with legislation. This knowledge and skill will enable the learner to work in a competent manner, which will contribute towards the overall efficiency and. The attained competence will also enable the learner to understand the use, care and do the basic maintenance of this equipment. This will ensure that breakages and stoppages are kept to a minimum and equipment is used in accordance with safe work practices thus increasing the safety standards of the organisation. This competence will advance the learner's own expertise, progression and employability in both the water and wastewater sector and other related jobs. |
