PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is for learners who plan and implement operations in the policing environment with a level of authority that allows them to take decisions independently. This unit standard will enable learners to plan, implement and monitor operations as well as assess the impact of operations.

A person credited with this unit standard will be able to:
  • Plan an operation.
  • Implement an operation.
  • Monitor the implementation of the operations.
  • Evaluate the impact of the operation. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    It is assumed that the learner has the following knowledge and skills:
  • Maths literacy at NQF Level 4.
  • Communication at NQF Level 4. 

  • UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
    Operations refer to acts of law enforcement and any operation in the prevention and resolving of crime.
