PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard is aimed at individuals required to provide operational support in a minor event. Individuals meeting the outcomes requirements of this unit standard will be working under supervision and will in particular be involved in support tasks associated with a minor event. Learners will be able to conduct responsibilities according to a work schedule and maintain required time frames and budgets.

On achievement of this unit standard the learner will understand and be able to:
  • Clarify event support requirements.
  • Execute event support tasks according to operational requirements.
  • Evaluate the event from an operational perspective.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    Operational objectives and requirements are explained as they relate to the planned event. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Own areas of responsibility as it applies to an event plan are described as to prioritise tasks and timeframes for execution in a work schedule. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Responsibilities include delivery time frames, reporting structures, decision making authority, budget and cost control, record keeping and administration.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The legal requirements applicable to the type of event are explained as they apply to own area of responsibility. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Execute event support tasks according to operational requirements. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The event support tasks are executed according to the work schedule. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Support tasks include issues relating to accommodation, transport, facilities, menus, refreshments and other logistical arrangements. Operational standards and requirements include budgets and cost control, legal requirements applicable to the type of event, administrative control and the maintaining of reporting structures.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    A record of all communication is compiled indicating the progress made in achieving the arrangements for support functions. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Communication includes verbal and written communication to internal and external parties.

    Evaluate the event from an operational perspective. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1 
    The degree to which client and organisational objectives are met by the event is assessed so as to improve future events. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Organisational objectives include provision of logistics, meeting of event brief, post event feedback from delegates and participants.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    A feedback report is compiled as per recommendations to address future performance. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Personal performance is assessed as to identify personal development requirements.
